History and aviation. If these two words mean something to you, then you are in the right place. Here, you will find amazing stories about famous airplanes, historical events, or exceptional people that have changed the world of aviation or turned out to be unfairly forgotten. The stories that I tell may sound so incredible that you might think they are taken from Hollywood scripts, but they all truly happened.
Most of the described events are quite old and more suited to paper books, but my goal is to transfer them carefully into videos so everyone can enjoy them.
I want to save these stories from oblivion by putting them in Paper Skies.

Plot twist: Paper Skies is actually Mustard with a light Russian accent.
Why is the footage from the beginning video in black and white? Doesn't feel like 1981 Footage.
I never knew of this incident. A lot of very real questions being asked, difficult decisions to make.
So who became the next lot of commanders, hmmn, someone who wanted to take over command 😅🤣🤣😂🤣😂
I watched true story movie about bat 21 bravo with gene hackman and Danny glover and jerry reed and gene hackman played Lt colonel iceal Hambledon
0:01 which song is this, I am dying to know PLEASE
That plane was so epic in so many ways
GREAT VIDEO
2 migs sent to intercept an air target, only to chase eachother in confusion is such a soviet thing to do....
3:15 - Gerald Bull siting?
It's same as Ardvarak but better.
Well then, I didn't know that we made a missile program here. Nor the fact that (of course) the one that we made would be seen as super reliable. When we put our heads to it, we make good stuff. Sadly, we lost a lot of the heads who were in such projects in the 60s. (thanks Diefenbaker.)
Do you have slavic heritage or speak any of slavic languages? Your pronounciation of the names is suspiciocly good😅
I remember him saying that his family lived in Ukraine during the Soviet era in the Soviet Top Gun School video.
air base 1521 have 51 twice in its name.... coincidence?
I wonder, why are the TU 22 "blinder" and TU 22M "backfire" so different but yet have the same designation
YAK-28 Bomber. Probably one of the Ugliest Planes to ever have a jet strapped to it. Most of the 1960s Soviet aircraft were pretty awesome looking. Just not the YAK-28...
I know the reason for tri jet engined aircraft in the west, why did Airoflot use this configuration. Did they travel over long ocean's as well or was it more copying of western idea's that lead to them adopting the three engine configuration. Just asking.
1:17 STORM SHADOW 🗣️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧💪💪💪
😳
To me, one story tells it all. During the development of the Lockheed P-38 in the United States, test pilots discovered that it was very difficult to recover from a maximum-effort dive. Sometimes the plane fell apart from the stress. Other times the plane would just dive straight into the ground. Lockheed kept testing the plane until they discovered "compressibility" and then worked into the design special dive flaps that gave the wings far more lift when in a dive and produced kits to retrofit planes already in service. In the Soviet Union, the Mig-15 jet fighter experienced similar issues. The Soviet solution? They painted a line on the instrument panel past which you should not push the stick.
This is an anti-russian channel! So I won't take as a fact,or truth anything! Canadian noobs
this channel is a gem. How did it avoid my front page is a failure of youtube. I love history, especially soviet union related topics, I love aviation and military topics.
The real question is did the US know how bullshit the russian military was and hide it for an adgenda.
What happened to the old thumbnail man ?
Still so cool to hear about stories from the other side of the curtain.
the USSR contrast between brilliance in engineering and then make shift use of new ground breaking weapons is always amazing and funny to me. With a bit more time and patience many of the weapons that came out of the USSR would truly be considered revolutionary. Rather than the western versions that took that extra time. Great video
The OG booze cruise
Why did they name a military airport after a romantic poet?
Why do you choose to present only those stories that present the USSR in a negative light? Given your abilities and access to materials, why not a balanced view showing both sides of aviation in the USSR?
Translation: you never watch his Maryy air base video.
Your documetations are very interesting, but 8 ads in 38mins of information are not acceptable. Sorry, no more this channel ;-(
Slow down man - my brain cannot process the speech fast enough :D
The Russians and the Chinese both suck at design so both of them have always relied on stolen technology from the US.
so the SU-57 invented nothing
eu fico impressionado com a capacidade do brasileiro de fazer merda em qualquer periodo historico
Puck futin! 🤮🤮
NAKED GRANDMA!
woah, why is that mig 23 looking at me now?
great animation
Does anyone know why the Tu-22M was given such a similar designation?
7:05 That looks like Bob Hoovers's Sabre Liner ?!
"The nation of the negatively gifted" bwahahah :D
I interned at a company that went to the Paris Air Show, one of my first briefings about it was along the lines of “everyone is here to spy on everyone else, don’t leave your shit lying around”. Nothing you can do about people just taking photos though😂
‘We’ve taken on too much vodk… I mean coolant’ ok .. jettison landing gear
"In general soviet engineers could be split into two categories: dead and alive"
Please do more videos on other countries too, I kind of miss them.
See also the hideously bad safety record of the American-made Fairchild F-27 series, the so-called “Lead Sled.” A certain amount of attention was drawn to its problems because one of the passenger variants crashed in the Andes in October 1972 and incredibly, there were some people who managed to survive.
yeah good story you build
